All ok. None of us are in Leh

Quick update. As you may have read in the news, there is much craziness in Leh right now because of a “cloudburst”. We didn’t have a team in Leh at the time, we are all fine, and God’s grace has continually been shown to us in our travels. Everyone on Massah is doing great! Thanks for your prayers.

A Couple Poems Written on this Trip…

Posted by Saul W in Saul W. on June 16th, 2010

First one:

Wall of Denial

The tears of the son

dive deep into secret pools

as chanted prayers

pass blind eyes and unsaved hearts.

For all the rock, mortar, and clay,

still many are lead astray.

Second one:

An Evening Stroll

I pass beneath a cloudy sky,

neon and florescents raking streaks

in every direction.

Unfinished hulks stand forlorn

as watchful, yet unprotecting guardians

in the midst of a sleeping city.

Sand sifts through toes like powdered velvet,

music trailing for those who would hear

and be moved to dance.

Waves crash upon the shore,

the sea racing towards infinity

beyond the red crescent of moon.

The Start of Something New

Shalom to everyone from Israel!  It’s great to be here, both as a visitor and also as a person who is able to be used by God in a difficult situation.  The first week has gone by slow, but already so much has been done.  The team has had the opportunity to hand out tracts several times, and most recently we had a sortie at the Gay Pride Parade with hopes of reaching out to various (and very unique) types of people.  There have been several minor issues in regards to those who would oppose us, but nothing serious enough to deter us from continuing our goal of reaching out to the Israeli people.

There are various ways that we have been reaching out to the people here: calling people and asking questions about their knowledge of Y’shua (Jesus), handing out tracts, distributing fake parking tickets onto windshields of cars (which offers a free book regarding prophesies fulfilled by Jesus as the Messiah), and a method of sending digital tracts to people via their phones. We have also assisted in the Behold Your God Campaign, and worked alongside some of the campaigners.

Our work is far from finished here, as we will remain in Israel for another six weeks, but we appreciate your continued prayers as we grow in our walk with Y’shua, learn the Hebrew language, and continue to step out for the glory of God.

Thanks to everyone for your support.
