the rafting

Posted by Josh Lazarus in Josh L., Uncategorized on April 15th, 2010

well yesterday we got back from a 3 day rafting trip. I must say it was a great experience!

we decided to go on the trip on the last moment. we heard adi and or, two friends of ours we met in kathmandu, that they were going on the trip so we decided it would be a good opportunity to meet israelis, and boy we were right!

we met about 25 israelis, all great people, we got really close to some of them, and had great talks with a few. please pray for Or, she had alot of questions about the faith that i was glad to answer, i hope she comes to know the lord one day.

one of the greatest things about the rafting was that many of the people we met are going to be in india when we are. we made good friendships with them and planed to meet with them in india. it was a good start and a great base of relationship for them to hear about the lord more deeply.

so tomorrow we are heading out to thailand. we will be there for two weeks, to relax alittle, and store energy for the 4 months in india. we are very much looking forward to the time in thailand, we are ready for some relaxing time, and just to hear from god about the rest of our trip. we pray god blesses our time in thailand, and that we will make some more contacts over there.

well thank you so much for all your prayers, we both are feeling much better, healthy and ready to do gods work.

untill next time,

josh

pokara

Posted by Josh Lazarus in Josh L. on April 9th, 2010

we’ll me and yossi are still in pokara, our plans on going on the around annapurna trek got alittle set back after yossi started feeling ill as of today. so please keep him in your prayer that god will strengthen him and help him feel better.

thank god im feeling much better, thank you for your prayers. today i went to a YWAM base here in pokara, they invited me and yossi to have fellowship with then, to worship and pray, but yossi wasnt feeling all that well, so i went alone.
it was a great time of worship and prayer, and the leader, samuel, asked me to share a little on what we are doing here in nepal. so i shared with them for about an hour about our calling to the israeli travellers here in the far east. they we’re very exited to hear what god put on our hearts, and asked many questions about our work and about israel especially. they are very devoted to the work of god in nepal which is a breath of fresh air to see here in all the commotion in nepal.

well based on how yossi feels, we will decide on how to act in the next few days. please pray that god shows us what his will is for us for the next couple of days, and expecially pray that yossi feels better so that we can move on with our plans.

thank you so much, and blessings from nepal

Last days in Nepal

Posted by Yossi S. in Uncategorized on April 6th, 2010

It is Wednesday today. Yesterday most of team left josh, Daniel and myself in Nepal. We are taking the next 2 day’s for last arrangements, some bible lessons and planing out our next 3 months in India.

We thank god for the short time we had with the team, and for the people we talk to in Nepal.
Please keep us in your prays regarding our last days in Nepal, our plans for the near future in India and for Josh’s health, that is not feeling well.

יִהְיוּ לְרָצוֹן אִמְרֵי-פִי, וְהֶגְיוֹן לִבִּי לְפָנֶיךָ:
יְהוָה, צוּרִי וְגֹאֲלִי.

The Trek

Posted by Eli B. in Uncategorized on April 5th, 2010

In search of pepole who are willing to listend to the message of love, we went out on a 3 day trek.
Poon Hill. We decided foolishly to do it in 3 days instead of the normal 5. We had to keep up with a very
fast pace. We barely met anyone along the way. All we met were 2 dutch boys and a my friend (who has heard the gospel many times)
and his family. They all got to hear the gospel. Who knows what will come out of it ? I believe that God can turn
every experience into the best . We returned to the city quite sick and we met up with the girls. We have 2 more days here.
Please pray that we finish strong

Last Day

Posted by Daniel G. in Uncategorized on April 5th, 2010

Today is our last day together. We had some quiet time in the morning and then split up to different coffee shops to talk to people.

We are now preparing signs in Hebrew that say “New Testemant Free!” and are doing to stand on some of the main intersections in the area. Hopefully we’ll be able to have a few more meaningful conversations with Israelis and give out a few New Testements before we leave.

Afterwards we’ll have some time of debrief, reflection and prayer and then our last meal together.
Tomorrow morning most of the team will begin the very long trip home with 3 long lay-overs in Kathmandu, Delhi and Amman.

Please pray for God to continue to work in the lives of those who’ve heard the Gospel, for health as many of us aren’t feeling well. And that God will prepare Yossi and Josh for the rest of their time here.

the world peace center…

Posted by Elizabeth K. in Uncategorized on April 2nd, 2010

Today Belin, Kathleen and I went for a hike to the World Peace Center with two Israeli girls – Hadar and Roz. We have been spending time and sharing with them a lot, so please keep them in your prayers. They are leaving tomorrow for a rafting trip so please pray that our last interactions will be meaningful. Hadar and I have also talked about meeting up in India this summer when Massah Alef is there so that would be very cool!

I also met an Israeli guy named Alex who I was able to share with- so also pray for him.  You can also be praying for Adi and Or who have both heard the gospel during this trip and were very open. Pray that we would be able to see them again and talk with them more.
Continue praying for our team that is hiking up in the mountains- that God would be protecting them and allowing them to meet many Israelis there. I have been praying that in our final days here in Nepal God would bring so many open people that we would not have enough time in the day to talk to them all :) . We are still hoping to have a lesson on the new testament later this week, so pray that God will allow us to meet people to invite and that it would have a good turnout (many of the people who are here now will not be here then because this is often a launching point for other trips or treks). Pray that we can continue to have energy and for encouragement. Nepal can be spiritually oppressive with all of the temples, gods, godesses and other spiritual things going on. Tonight we are planning to have Shabbat at the Chabad here and are hoping to meet more people through that. Thank you so much again for following us! I can’t wait to tell you all more about what is happening and our experiences here.

Liz

P.S. I tried to upload pictures of the hike here, but couldn’t figure it out- I’m sorry!!!!!
